Fire and Ice was created January to April 2013 by me and Benjamin Gibson. It is covered in BROKEN very thick conference table glass that are back lit by super bright white LEDs. Her face was constructed using my father's radiation therapy bust so this project provoked thoughts of him and his battle with cancer. I covered the face of the radiation bust with stained glass and Ben lit it from the inside with a very bright blue LED. She is referred to as the Fire and Ice Queen, holding her majestic pose. The broken glass looks just like ice and when lit is very bright. Fire is blown from the back up into the air by propane, but can sit with the pilot light on for effect. This is our first sole colaboration, we couldn't have been a better team. Please see the images below to gain more perspective.
